Do you have strong interest in high-speed electronics design? Do you want to learn and know everything about simulation and analysis? Do you want to be part of a young and international team of specialists who use their qualities to help customers to optimize their designs?

Then we are looking for you!

Your role as a Signal & Power Integrity Engineer

As Signal & Power Integrity Engineer you are part of the analysis team that consists of six engineers. Together with your colleagues you ensure that Sintecs remains at the top of high-speed design and strengthens its leading role internationally.

In this position you will deepen your knowledge of everything that is related to electrical signal processing and its preservation when a PCB is used for signal transport. In collaboration with colleagues from the analysis team, you will ensure that each design is thoroughly analyzed in the SI, PI, crosstalk and timing areas, by using IBIS, timing models and S-parameter models. Over time, you will become more familiar with the basics of SI/PI and timing, complex PCB technology and high-speed interfaces. Especially in the beginning you will be asked for your motivation and commitment to become more familiar about this new field. For this you will be given time and guidance during the introduction period.

In the role of Signal and Power Integrity Engineer, you will be the person who figures out why a customer’s prototype doesn’t work, or how to make a design meet the SI/PI requirements. You will regularly interact with customers to find the best possible technical solution. As SI/PI engineer you will also regularly assist your colleagues from the Hardware and/or PCB Layout Team to take SI/PI effects into account during the design phase. By performing the analyses during the design phase, you prevent changes afterwards which safes a lot of time. The job is diverse and gives you the feeling that you have actively contributed to the design. In time you will use your expertise not only to help our clients create the best possible design, but also to implement changes in our working methods.

To do your job well, it is important that you keep track of electronics trends, especially the developments in the field of high-speed design. Furthermore, you have good analytical skills and are interested in simulation models for e.g. Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI) and timing analyses and you want to use the models to test the quality of a design. Finally, you would like to be aware of important functional requirements for high-speed designs for which you have learned the ins and outs of concept choices you might make in the design process.

What do you bring

  • A completed Bachelor or Master’s degree. Preferably in electrical engineering or applied physics.
  • Several years of work experience as a Hardware Engineer, or PCB Layout Engineer.
  • Interest in simulation techniques, PCB layout, high-speed design and innovation.
  • You are eager to learn, analytical and communicative.
  • You have a good command of the English language orally and in writing. It is an advantage if you also master the Dutch language.
  • Knowledge of IBIS models, as well as high-speed interfaces, such as DDRx, USB, PCIe is an advantage.
